Leopardstown Racecourse has this morning announced that leading global equine science company Plusvital will sponsor the Plusvital Leopardstown Trainers Championship which will be run over eight Thursday fixtures from June 3 to August 12, 2021.

Each trainer will receive points for their successes at each of the meetings with the overall winner being presented with €3000 of Plusvital nutritional supplement or genetic testing products on the final day of the series.

A total of 27 individual trainers recorded winners at Leopardstown in the corresponding period last season.

Plusvital are also sponsoring four races during the summer months, emphasising their commitment to horse racing in Ireland and their continued support of Leopardstown Racecourse.

Formed in 1975, Plusvital remains a family-owned business, with all products proudly manufactured in Ireland and reaching Plusvital distributors in over 30 countries worldwide.

“We are delighted to partner with Leopardstown Racecourse to support this new initiative for 2021,” said Plusvital CEO Mike Shelly.

“The racing and bloodstock industry is at the core of our business and we always look to support it. While recent times have been challenging for everyone, Irish trainers have continued to excel on the world stage and Plusvital are proud to be part of this Summer Championship that will recognise the success of these talented trainers.”

“We are also pleased to be able to support Leopardstown Racecourse at a tough time for all racecourses and sporting venues. Plusvital, in partnership with TMB, have provided a PCR based COVID testing service for the public at Leopardstown Racecourse since December and have carried out over 15,000 tests in that time. In our own small way, we hope we can continue to play our part in helping our community through the pandemic.”

“We are delighted to extend our valued partnership with Plusvital,” added Leopardstown Racecourse CEO Tim Husbands.

“Our eight Thursday fixtures throughout the summer months attract a wide range of trainers due to the variety of races we stage and we are delighted that Plusvital are rewarding these trainers with such a substantial prize. We are very grateful to Plusvital for their continued commitment to the industry.”
