The FAI has set a new record for season ticket sales at the Aviva Stadium with the previous high of 16,500 passed yesterday.
Sales are ongoing until March 21st, five days ahead of the first of six games scheduled to be played at home this year.
That will be a marquee game against World number one Belgium, celebrating the centenary of the Association.
It will be followed by a friendly against Lithuania on March 29th together with UEFA Nations League games in June, against Ukraine and Scotland, and in September against Armenia. A home November friendly is also scheduled with opponents to be confirmed, but with a top tier nation, possibly England on the cards as part of their final preparations for the World Cup Finals in Qatar starting at the end of that month.
Prices range from €120 in Category D to €290 for Category A with student tickets available at €120, child tickets at €60 and family tickets at €400.
The ticket sales are being managed through Ticketmaster and there are options to make two equal payments or to avail of an interest-free payment option.
There is value to be had in the season ticket, as evidenced by the fact that a family ticket of two adult and two child tickets for the Belgium game is priced at €120.
Sport for Business Perspective:
Support for the team grew though last year bouncing back from the nadir of the home defeat to Luxembourg to the high of welcoming Portugal and Christiano Ronaldo to a draw at the Aviva in front of a full house in November.
This positive momentum of record season ticket sales in a year where there are no competitive qualification games is another boost in the ongoing search to bring a primary commercial partner on board.
