It is a direct result of the success and profile of the Republic of Ireland Women’s National Team and will be bolstered by the coverage of the Euro 2022 Championships on screen at the moment. Figures from the 2022 INTERSPORT Elverys FAI Summer Soccer Schools camps, show that there are greater numbers of girls playing football here than has ever been the case.
With 400 camps being hosted at 307 clubs nationwide, over 30,000 have registered already including a record 6,275 girls.
There are 13 Girls Only camps taking place across seven different counties, but most girls involved with the Camps are mixing with boys and enjoying the sessions put on by FAI Accredited coaches.
Catering for children aged between six and fourteen years of age, participants do not need to have football experience as the camps are set up to be fun, and interactive but also help to develop new skills.
