Still early in his career, he has already made a substantial contribution to the business, helping to shape the future of Torpey’s core hurling products while opening the door to expansion into new international sports markets.

His work includes the creation of new designs for a market betond hurling, which we will herar more of in 2026, as well as a new hurley pipeline product and the innovative ‘Klaw’ hurling glove. He has introduced advanced design and simulation processes and established an in-house research and development centre to support rigorous product testing and performance improvement.
The commercial impact of his work has been significant, contributing to increased sales and improved margins, while reducing waste in hurley production by 22 per cent and improving material efficiency by 33 per cent. Alongside product innovation, Myles has enhanced internal processes by implementing a tailored in-house New Product Development framework and optimising manufacturing systems, leading to faster prototyping, cost savings, and greater product quality and consistency.

Who should we be looking to for the next wave of excellence?
Over the coming weeks we will feature a run of interviews with those who have gone before, and we will continue to highlight some of those that have taken on a new role in the past year or two.
Then in June we will gather once more in the offices of PwC to meet in person, share experience and forge connections that will be of real value.
And we will also be looking at additional ways in which we can help those nominated to enhance their career and build strong friendships across the sector, particularly in this the tenth year of the list.
