Beko and Leinster GAA have launched the 2026 Beko Club Champion programme, continuing a long-running initiative designed to recognise the contribution of volunteers across Gaelic Games in the province.

Now in its tenth year, the partnership between Beko and Leinster GAA has delivered more than €250,000 worth of equipment to over 90 clubs, supporting grassroots development and rewarding those who contribute behind the scenes.

The 2026 programme is open to all GAA clubs across Leinster, with nominations now live to identify volunteers whose work often goes unrecognised. A total of 12 winners, one from each county, will be selected as Beko Club Champions, with each recipient earning €1,000 worth of equipment for their club.

The launch was attended by Seán Rafferty, the Meath and Na Fianna player and 2025 All-Star, who encouraged clubs and communities to put forward nominations through an online entry process.

Entries will remain open until Friday, 25 September at 5pm, with winners to be chosen by an independent judging panel.

Cathaoirleach Comhairle Laighean Martin Byrne said the programme continues to deliver meaningful impact at club level.

“Beko’s partnership with Leinster GAA has had a real and lasting impact on clubs across the province,” he said. “Their continued support has provided valuable resources at grassroots level, but just as importantly, it has helped shine a light on the often-unsung heroes whose dedication keeps our games alive.”

Shane O’Connor, Marketing Manager at Beko Ireland, highlighted the importance of recognising volunteer contributions within the GAA ecosystem.

“The Beko Club Champion continues to go from strength to strength over the term of the partnership,” he said. “We are very proud to be able to recognise heroes of GAA clubs as we know the levels of dedication and commitment they put in on their own time.”

The initiative forms part of a broader effort to sustain and strengthen volunteer engagement within the GAA, with the continued backing of commercial partners playing an important role in supporting club activity and participation at local level.
