TG4’s GAA Beo coverage drew a live audience of 228,700 viewers across its television and digital platforms on Wednesday night, as supporters tuned in for a dramatic programme of underage Gaelic Games action.

Five live games were made available free-to-air across TG4, the TG4 Player, the TG4 App and Spórt TG4 YouTube, with three of the five fixtures requiring extra time.  TRg4’s production partner for Gaelic Games is fellow Sport for Business member, Nemeton

The standout moment came in the Fulfil Munster GAA Under 20 Hurling Championship Final, where Clare overcame Limerick following a sudden-death penalty shootout after an epic contest.

Clare goalkeeper Mark Sheedy of Sixmilebridge emerged as the hero, saving three penalties before converting his own decisive strike to seal the title.

The moment quickly gained international attention after Sheedy’s winning save featured at number one on ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays of the Day in the United States.

That game attracted the largest audience of the night, with 104,000 viewers watching across linear television and TG4’s streaming platforms.

There was also strong interest in the Dalata Hotel Group GAA Football Under 20 All-Ireland Championship Semi-Finals, with Kerry’s meeting with Roscommon drawing 52,900 viewers and Kildare against Tyrone attracting 26,500.

Kerry v Roscommon was one of three games to go to extra time, alongside Galway v Wexford in the Fulfil Leinster GAA Under 20 Hurling Championship Semi-Final.

Coverage of Dublin v Kilkenny in the same tournament drew 18,200 viewers on YouTube, while Galway v Wexford attracted 27,100 views on the platform.

All five games are now available on demand across TG4’s digital platforms.
