Lidl Ireland has been confirmed as the official Title Event Partner for Katie Taylor’s long-awaited Croke Park homecoming fight, adding a major commercial layer to what is set to be one of the biggest sporting occasions of the year.
Taylor will face undefeated French fighter Flora Pili at Croke Park on Saturday, September 5th, in what has been billed as her final professional fight and the first professional boxing event at the stadium since Muhammad Ali fought there in 1972. The bout will be broadcast live worldwide on DAZN.
The partnership sees Lidl “Get Behind The Fight” as Title Event Partner, continuing a year in which the brand has already been closely aligned with Taylor through its work in women’s sport. In January, Lidl launched the 2026 Lidl Ladies National Football League season at Croke Park with Taylor fronting its “Greatness Deserves to be Seen” campaign, underlining the retailer’s positioning around visibility, ambition and support for female athletes.

The Croke Park event will see Taylor defend her WBO, WBA, IBF and Ring Magazine super-lightweight titles against Pili, while also fighting for the vacant WBC title. Victory would allow Taylor to end her career as a three-time undisputed world champion.
Lidl’s involvement also carries a direct ticketing benefit for customers. Matchroom Boxing Fight Pass members will have access to a pre-sale from 9am on Wednesday, June 10th, while Lidl Plus App users will have access to an exclusive pre-sale from 10am the same morning.
General sale begins at 9 am on Friday, June 12th, with stand tickets starting from €38.70 and family tickets in a non-alcohol area priced at €125.50. Pitchside prices range from €106.25 to €1,505.50.
The sponsorship is a natural extension of a long-running commitment to women’s sport in Ireland.
The brand recently extended its partnership with the LGFA to 2030, bringing its total investment in the women’s game to €22.5 million since the relationship began in 2016.
Taylor has described the Croke Park fight as the dream ending to her career, while promoter Eddie Hearn has positioned the event as much about legacy as it is about commercial return.
While the configuration of Croke Park for the fight has yet to be finalised, it will, without a doubt, smash any previous record for a boxing event held on Irish soil.
With a massive crowd and build-up, a global broadcast platform and a title partner that has built much of its sports sponsorship story around female participation and visibility, the September fight will be both a major boxing occasion and a landmark moment for women’s sport sponsorship in Ireland.
