The biggest sporting occasion of the Irish summer brings more than 82,000 supporters to Croke Park. With AIB title sponsorship, extensive RTÉ and BBC coverage, and significant activation by Allianz, SuperValu and county partners, it is comfortably the standout sporting and commercial event of the weekend.

Four of the country’s leading counties battle for places in next month’s All-Ireland Final. The double-header highlights the continued growth of elite women’s sport, supported by Glen Dimplex and benefiting from increasing broadcast audiences and commercial investment.

Ireland’s leading athletes compete for national titles and places at this summer’s European Championships. It is Athletics Ireland’s flagship domestic event, showcasing Olympic and Paralympic talent while highlighting the continued growth of participation and commercial support within athletics.
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Irish Open Tennis
Qualifying: Saturday & Sunday, 25–26 July
Carrickmines Croquet & Lawn Tennis Club, Dublin
Professional women’s tennis returns to Ireland with qualifying for the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Irish Open. The W50 ITF World Tennis Tour event brings international players to Carrickmines ahead of next week’s main draw, reinforcing Ireland’s growing reputation as a host for elite tennis.

One of Europe’s oldest and most prestigious amateur golf championships reaches its conclusion on the famous Rosses Point links. Ireland’s best amateur players compete for a title that has launched the careers of many Ryder Cup players and major championship contenders.

Dublin Mountain Trail

Ticknock Forest and Dublin Mountains
Hundreds of runners will tackle 30km, 60km and 90km trail races through the Dublin Mountains. The event reflects the sustained growth of endurance sports and outdoor participation in Ireland, attracting athletes from across the country and overseas.

With Galway United continuing to play at Pearse Stadium while redevelopment work continues at Eamonn Deacy Park, this is the standout League of Ireland fixture of the weekend. Both clubs remain firmly in the hunt for a strong finish to the Premier Division season.
