Mayo’s Aidan O’Shea flew out to the USA after last weekend’s Allianz League loss to Mayo and will have watched the Super Bowl unfold to give an indication of what he is going through in front of the cameras right now.

His place in the Breaffy pre-season club training will be taken by Wide Receiver Roberto Wallace who played three years with the Miami Dolphins and two with the Tennessee Titans during his NFL career to date.

Probably best for the lads in Mayo not to ask about his earnings from sport as his two contracts yielded a shade over €2 million but that’s no guarantee he will be able to master the art of avoiding a tackle with a round ball on the west coast of Ireland.

Two time Ashes participant for England Steve Harmison has swapped places with Brendan Maher and has been put through his paces at Borris-Ileigh in Tipperary.

The documentary following the four players out of their comfort zone will be shown next month with an announcement expected shortly about which channel it will be broadcast on.  We will not be surprised if it is the same channel that showed Maher and O’Shea in All Ireland semi final action last year.

AIB are not getting a free run at the club space though with Bank of Ireland reviving a social video created last year around how staff are encouraged to help out in local communities.

Since this video was shot the Bank has taken over sponsorship of Kilmacud Crokes in south Dublin, a club which includes Declan O’Rourke of AIG and Malachi Clerkin of the Irish Times among its opinion forming audience.
