The FAI has announced a new four-year partnership with Irish soft drinks brand Club Orange, which will become the title sponsor of the Men’s and Women’s FAI Cups through to 2029.
From this season onward, the competitions will be known as the Club Orange Men’s FAI Cup and the Club Orange Women’s FAI Cup, strengthening Club Orange’s growing involvement in Irish football following its recent appointment as Official Soft Drinks Partner of the League of Ireland and the Men’s and Women’s National Teams.
The Road to the Aviva Stadium and Tallaght Stadium begins shortly, with the opening tie of the Club Orange Men’s FAI Cup set for Sunday, May 10, when Bangor Celtic host River Valley Rangers in the First Round. Details of the opening rounds of the Women’s competition are expected to be announced soon.
The Second Round draws for both competitions will take place on Wednesday, June 3, at the Sport Ireland National Sports Campus Conference Centre.
FAI Commercial Director Sean Kavanagh described the agreement as “a landmark four-year partnership for Irish football.”
“We’re delighted to welcome Club Orange as the new title partner of the Men’s and Women’s FAI Cups,” he said. “This agreement represents a significant investment in the domestic game and reflects our shared commitment to growing domestic football in Ireland.
“The Club Orange Men’s and Women’s FAI Cups are two of the most prestigious and historic competitions in Irish sport, and with Club Orange’s support, we are confident we can further elevate their profile, enhance the experience for players and supporters, and create memorable moments through the drama and unforgettable games we’re sure to see.
“We look forward to working closely with Club Orange to bring this exciting new chapter to life.”
Stephen Cramp, Britvic Ireland Marketing Director, said the partnership reflected the brand’s connection with football and Irish communities.
“Club has always stood for realness – bold flavour, real bits and the real thing – and as Ireland’s No.1 citrus drink, it’s a brand built on fun, great taste and unmistakably real Irish moments,” he said.
“There are few stages bigger or more meaningful than the FAI Cup for a brand like Club. Club has a long-standing history rooted in everyday Irish moments, and football has always been a part of where Club belongs.”
“From local rivalries to the drama of the finals, the FAI Cup brings communities together. We are proud to be part of a competition that feels so authentic and unmistakably Club.”
It is a strong brand replacement for Sports Direct, which was the latest sponsor of both competitions and supported the FAI in giving the tournament a real identity and branding.
The FAI Cup Finals at Tallaght for the Women and the Aviva Stadium for the men are two of the highlights of the Autumn sporting calendar.
