The 2025 Electric Ireland Camogie Third Level Rising Stars Team of the Year has been named.

This is the third year of the brand’s partnership with the Camogie Association, supporting the game across the Minor grade and the Third Level Camogie Championships.

A season of superb camogie culminated in a thrilling Ashbourne Cup final at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence, where the University of Limerick edged out their Munster rivals, University College Cork by just two points.

UCC were looking to end their long wait for an Ashbourne Cup title, having last won in 2003. However, it was not to be for the Cork side, with the result marking UL’s second victory in a row at the Connacht venue and the 12th Ashbourne Cup title in their history.

UL dominates the 2025 Team of the Year, with eight players selected. UCC and TU Dublin have three representatives, and the final player comes from the University of Galway.

This year’s Electric Ireland Camogie Third Level Rising Star Player of the Year is UL’s Áine Keane.

Throughout the season, Keane excelled at the defensive heart of a star-studded UL team, consistently shutting down opposition attacks and providing a solid foundation for her team’s success.

Her stellar year was epitomised by a long-range free in the dying seconds of the Ashbourne Cup final, which put them out of the danger zone and propelled UL to a two-point victory.

This year, Electric Ireland has brought sustainability to the fore of their Camogie and GAA sponsorships, switching to sustainable awards crafted from renewable beechwood material. Over the season, 25 Player of the Match awards were presented across all competitions, including the Ashbourne, Sigerson, and Fitzgibbon Cups.

The Rising Star Team of the Year awards will be crafted from the same renewable material, showcasing Electric Ireland’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

“Congratulations to each player named on the 2025 Electric Ireland Camogie Third Level Rising Stars Team of the Year, and in particular, congratulations to player of the year Áine Keane,” said Camogie Association President Brian Molloy.

“This competition provides a vital platform for young players to develop their skills, compete at a high level, and ultimately contribute to their clubs and counties.”

“The Electric Ireland sponsorship is vital in providing the resources and support necessary to ensure the Third Level Championships continue to thrive and nurture the future stars of our game. To the players named on the Team of the Year – we are immensely proud to have such passionate and talented representatives for the sport.”

“The Ashbourne Cup and the #FirstClassRivals campaign truly embodies the spirit of competition and camaraderie,” added Robert Crabbe, Sponsorship and PR Manager at Electric Ireland.

“It is inspiring to see these players, who may be rivals on the inter-county stage, come together to form unbreakable bonds and achieve incredible success with their college teams.”
