The Padel Federation of Ireland, in partnership with sports event specialists ForeFront Group, has officially announced the launch of the first-ever Padel Irish Open, taking place from 12–16 November 2025 at Padel LK in Limerick.

This is a landmark moment for the sport’s growth in Ireland.

The tournament has been confirmed as an official stop on the Cupra FIP Tour, the global padel circuit sanctioned by the International Padel Federation (FIP). The event will attract international ranking points and world-class competitors to Irish soil for the first time.

Speaking at the announcement, Naomi Nicholl, President of the Padel Federation of Ireland, hailed the tournament as a breakthrough moment for Irish padel.

“This landmark tournament at Padel LK will bring some of the world’s top padel players to Irish soil, providing Irish players with a unique opportunity to debut on the global stage, and allowing Irish fans to experience elite-level action up close,” she said.

The event will be hosted at Padel LK, Ireland’s largest indoor padel facility, which features eight state-of-the-art courts.

The Limerick-based venue has emerged as a key hub for the sport’s rapid growth in Ireland.

“Since day one, we have had big ambitions for the facility, and this event is a stepping stone not only for us but for the sport across Ireland,” said Peter Brazil, Founder of Padel LK.

ForeFront Group, the event’s delivery partner, will bring its expertise in premium sports event management to ensure a high-impact debut for the Irish Open on the international stage. It is currently in deep preparation mode for the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, which it revived four years ago and is now regarded as one of the premier events on the Ladies European Tour in golf.

Cian Branagan, CEO of ForeFront, described the launch as the culmination of significant work behind the scenes.

“This is a major milestone for Irish padel. Our aim is to grow this event year on year and eventually have it as one of the biggest events in Europe, providing a pathway for Irish players to springboard into the global ranks.”

The Irish Open is expected to draw top international talent from across Europe, as well as national players, sponsors, spectators, and widespread media attention.

Further details on player entries, ticketing, and event activations will be announced in the coming weeks, and Sport for Business will closely follow the bringing to life of this exciting event for the sport.

SPORT FOR BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE
This is a great breakthrough to lift the grassroots enthusiasm of Padel onto a higher level, and to position Ireland as a player in a European context.  Walking past a three court facility in Dublin last Saturday night at 8pm, every court was full and there were people waiting to come in to follow them.
WHAT’S UP NEXT?
