Record Breaking Summer For Kellogg’s Gaa Cúl Camps

The t-shirts and bags are a familiar sight on the streets and now in the classrooms and if you thought there were more of them this year, you would be right.

Kellogg’s Cúl Camps attracted 102,384 boys and girls to play gaelic football and hurling over the summer, a 15% increase on 2014.

They also provide employment and encouragement for young coaches to come through the ranks and develop their own engagement with the games.

Over 1,100 camps took place this year, across all 32 counties and the skills that were learned will filter through to a raising of standards that will eventually make its way all the way to Croke Park in September.

“This is a superb result for our Kellogg’s Cúl Camps,” said GAA President Aogán Ó Fearghail.

“It underlines their continued appeal to parents and players alike.”

“What a fantastic achievement to reach the milestone of 100,000 registrations – every year Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps have got bigger and better and the record number of sign-ups this year shows the formula is absolutely right for kids and parents in the holidays,” added Kellogg’s Ireland Managing Director Jim McNeill.

“We are proud to support the GAA on delivering such a great initiative.”

There were similar rises reported this summer in the FAI summer soccer camps and others across basketball, athletics and rugby showing that sport in the summer has a major appeal to children over Ireland.

It’s a good link for commercial partners and for the sporting bodies with brands like Kellogg’s in the GAA and SportsWorld with the FAI using their channels to promote the camps as well as supporting through sponsorship.
