Irish fans who missed out on tickets for the Euros will have their biggest chance to set that right through a promotion announced yesterday with UEFA and FAI partner Carlsberg.
The brand will be giving away over 1,000 tickets over the next six weeks in a variety of online and on site promotions that are part of a tournament based campaign to ‘do it better for fans.’
“It’s a massive year for football and we want to give Irish fans the opportunity to be there every step of the way,” said Carlsberg Brand Manager Colum Campbell speaking in Dublin alongside former French football international Emmanuel Petit who was in town with the Euro 2016 Trophy giving fans a chance to get up close.

“As expected, there’s been a lot of demand for tickets to Ireland matches,” added Campbell.
“Unfortunately not everyone was successful so we want to use our association with the tournament to give as many fans as possible the chance to be there and experience the incredible atmosphere for themselves.”
“One of my lasting memories from the last European Championships is the Irish fans,” said Petit.
“While the team didn’t perform as they would have liked, one thing Ireland can definitely take away from the tournament is that, no matter what happens, they can say they have the best fans in the World.”

The brand is managed in Ireland through Diageo who have a long standing relationship themselves with sport at the highest level and are partners of Sport for Business alongside the FAI.
As many as 50,000 fans are expected to travel from Ireland to the Euro’s though as many as 50% of those will do so without a ticket in hand.
