With over 11,300 posts and 4.34 million posts, Olytico’s October 2024 Analysis details an especially impressive month for the League of Ireland accounts.

October 2024 Highlights on Instagram
Instagram activity increased 3% to 2,621 posts and the platform saw a 26% increase in engagements, to 3.49 million. Again the impact of last year’s Rugby World Cup can be seen in the fact that this month in 2023 generated 6.9 million engagements
The Instagram activity charts were topped by the League of Ireland (574, +10%) as they announced a new partnership with Premier Sports for LOITV. Ireland Football in second (209, +88%) saw Robbie Brady’s strike secure victory against Finland in Helsinki, and in third the Northern Ireland account (188, +76%) brought us a new mascot.

Basketball Ireland (112, +433%) saw Ajay Ryan Walsh and the Limerick Sport Eagles put on a show for some interested All Black onlookers, the Gaelic Players Association (18, +200%) recognised Patrick ‘Bonner’ Maher as he called time on his stellar Tipperary career, and Volleyball Ireland (29, +164%) welcomed the start of the National League season.

Irish Rugby (4,828, +79%) topped the average engagement per post chart, as Caelan Dorris was announced as the new Men’s Senior Captain ahead of the Autumn Nations Series.

Ireland Football (3,946, -25%) in second wished Aiden McGeady all the very best in his retirement, and in third the GAA (2,993, -16%) brought us all the action from the Allianz Inter-Provincial Series.

The League of Ireland (3,968) claimed the hat-trick for ‘highest engagements per 1,000 followers’.
For the third month in a row, the Northern Ireland account brought us the most engaged with content on Instagram, this time a Reel with Liverpool’s Conor Bradley as he wore the Captain’s armband for the first time, the collab post with Liverpool FC generated over 73,000 public engagements.
