Mersey Bluff in Australia is set to host the 2025 World Triathlon Para Series this weekend. The event will bring together elite paratriathletes from around the world, including two from Ireland.

Chloe MacCombe and her guide Aoibh Clarke will be in the thick of the action in the PTVI category. Their race is set for Friday, March 14th, at 2:30 AM (Irish Time) and will be shown live on TriathlonLive TV.

The event will showcase Paratriathlon talent and feature Paralympic champions, world champions, and emerging stars competing for early-season dominance. With over 30 of the world’s best para-triathletes set to race, it promises an exciting battle for glory.

The Devonport Triathlon Festival is one of Australia’s most iconic triathlon events, celebrating 40 years in 2025. The event was first held in 1985 and has grown from a local race into a prestigious international competition, attracting some of the world’s best triathletes.

Over the decades, Devonport has hosted national championships, Oceania titles and World Cup events, becoming a proving ground for future stars of the sport.

The festival showcases elite racing and brings together para triathletes, age-group competitors, and junior athletes, genuinely celebrating the sport.

This year’s milestone edition will feature the 2025 World Triathlon Para Series opening race, alongside the Elite Men’s and Women’s Oceania Championships, ensuring a thrilling weekend of world-class racing on Tasmania’s stunning North West Coast.

MacCombe and Clarke most recently claimed victory in Abu Dhabi, dominating the Women’s PTVI category. The duo delivered a stellar performance, leading from the swim and extending their advantage through the bike and run to secure gold in 1:10:11.

This marked a strong start to their season and an exciting first triathlon partnership for Aoibh.

MacCombe, who made her Paralympic debut in Paris, continues to build momentum on the road to LA 2028.
