The brand is also the long time sponsors of the GAA All Ireland Minor Championships in hurling and football.

The three home games will be played on the 4G artificial surface each Friday night preceding the Ireland Men’s RBS 6 Nations Home Games.

Donnybrook will also host the three home games in the Women’s 6 Nations as Ireland bid to defend their double titles.

The team itself is sponsored by PwC whose markets partner David McGee said at the launch of the season that “”PwC remains very committed to supporting Irish Rugby including our sponsorship of the Under 20 team.”

“This sponsorship is very close to PwC’s DNA as developing a leadership pipeline with attributes such as talent, teamwork and commitment are critical for success in business and on the pitch”

“Playing U20 rugby for Ireland was a pivotal moment in my career,” said Felix Jones, launching the partnership today.  Jones was a member of the Irish U20 team that won the Grand Slam in 2007 and also contained  Keith Earls, Darren Cave, Ian Keatley, Sean O’Brien and Cian Healy.

“Not only was it my first experience representing Ireland but the exposure to Six Nations rugby was a great indication of the expected levels of professional rugby and indeed international rugby.”

“We have some really exciting players coming through the ranks and these games provide a real opportunity to witness this first hand.”

“Having played games here in Donnybrook at many points of my career, I know it can have a fantastic atmosphere.”

“With the games taking place under floodlights, the quality of rugby on display and the immaculate surface, that atmosphere should hold true. Like in any sport, home support is important so I encourage everyone to come and enjoy the games.”

“Electric Ireland has a long tradition of supporting young people in sport and we look forward to working with the IRFU and helping to promote this year’s home series,” said Niall Dineen, Head of Commercial at Electric Ireland.

“We believe in Smarter Living and for rugby fans these matches are the smarter choice to experience the Six Nations atmosphere while seeing at first hand the rising stars of Irish rugby.”

Ireland will kick off their campaign against Wales on Friday, February 5th followed by a meeting with Italy on Friday, March 11th and the final game against Scotland on 18th of March.

Join us tomorrow when we will speak to Lisa Browne, Head of Marketing at Electric Ireland about why youth sport is such a strong strand through the Electric Ireland programme of sponsorship in 2016.
