Alex Malone
Alex Malone is the Para Swimming Co-ordinator for Paralympics Ireland having joined the organisation in March 2023 as part of the Aspire Graduate Programme.
A graduate of UCD’s Sport and Exercise Management course, Alex played a pivotal role as Operations Administrator in the build-up to Paris 2024 and was an ever-present figure in the Athletes’ Village, working at the heart of Team Ireland.
The role involved dealing with the day-to-day logistics of travel, accreditation, accommodation and office management in the village.
Following the conclusion of the Games, the 24-year-old took over his current role which sees him involved in the management of the high-performance and performance pathway swimming squads. This includes the organisation of international and domestic competitions and training as well as managing areas such as anti-doping and athlete welfare.
Prior to joining Paralympics Ireland he had part time work with Cricket Ireland, Elverys, Educogym and Sport Endorse.
A keen advocate for professional development, Alex is currently undergoing a Diploma in Project Management from UCD.

In May, we will gather once more in the offices of PwC to meet in person, share experiences, and forge valuable connections.
We will also examine additional ways to help those nominated enhance their careers and build strong friendships across the sector.
The Sport for Business Membership comprises over 300 organisations, including all the leading sports and sponsors, as well as commercial and state agencies.
