Cloud services supplier Workday has taken a step further into sporting sponsorship by signing up Rory McIlroy as a brand ambassador.

McIlroy is wearing the Workday logo on his bag at the Genesis Invitational tournament currently taking place on the PGA Tour.

The company employs 1,300 staff at its European Headquarters in Dublin.

It clearly values the importance of sport and McIlroy is the latest in a line of impressive ambassadors from Phil Mickelson and Lauren Kim in Golf to Peyton Manning and Naomi Osaka at the highest level of global sport.

It is a title sponsor of the Memorial Tournament on the PGA Tour and a Regional Partner of F1.

“Workday has been a great supporter of golf, and we both share a passion for the game and are guided by some of the same core values including innovation, integrity, and fun,” said McIlroy.

“Over the years I’ve gotten to know more about Workday and its leadership team, and I admire how the company approaches its business by putting its employees and communities first, while also having a strong commitment to innovation.”

“It’s because of this, and our shared passion for using our platforms for good, that I’m incredibly excited to partner together.”

McIlroy’s roster of sponsors are worth an estimated €30 million a year and include Nike, Taylor Made, NBC Golf Pass and Omega.
