Louise Burke – Galway Sports Partnership

Ellie Loftus is the Sports Inclusion Disability Officer with the Galway Sports Partnership.

She has built the disability department from the ground up after joining in 2020 and has excelled in her role. She works closely with Healthy Galway, HSE, Brothers of Charity and Galway Councils, to name but a few.

She has impacted hundreds of lives within the disability groups that she has worked with across the city and county.

She has an innovative approach working with schools for those with special needs, care centres and care homes as well as individuals in independent living quarters. Her approach has always been caring enthusiastic and creative.

Loftus graduated from IT Sligo in 2018 with a First Class Honours Degree in Public Health and Health Promotion. She joined the Sport Ireland Aspire Graduate Programme with the Limerick Sports Partnership and joined the Galway Sports Partnership in November 2020.

Throughout 2021, she created opportunities for those who are most vulnerable to get active with virtual challenges, booklets and games, all to support the mental and physical wellbeing of her participants.

This annual list identifies those under the age of 30 who are making a mark in the business of sport in 2022. It is compiled with the ongoing support of PwC, ‘where potential becomes success’.

The criteria for nomination is that they should either be working in a role that sees them playing a significant part in sports administration, sports marketing or the commercial world of sport; or that they are a graduate of an Irish third-level institution and making their mark on the international stage, and that they were born in or after 1992.
