Dan Meijer – Web Summit

Dan Meijer is the Director of Sport at Web Summit, where he produces and curates all sports content across their events worldwide.

Since assuming the role in 2021 he has worked with stars and industry leaders including Thierry Henry, Samuel Eto’o, Carmelo Anthony, Eric Dier, Mark Cuban, Iker Casillas, and Peter Schmeichel.

The Guardian describes Web Summit as ‘the largest tech event in the world’, and sport is a central theme at each conference.

A graduate of TU Dublin with a Degree in Marketing, Meijer joined Web Summit directly after finishing college, producing the startup PITCH competition for 2 years before stepping up to the Director of Sport role.

He played Senior Cup Rugby for High School in Dublin and is a keen Arsenal supporter.

This annual list identifies those under the age of 30 who are making a mark in the business of sport in 2022. It is compiled with the ongoing support of PwC, ‘where potential becomes success’.

The criteria for nomination is that they should either be working in a role that sees them playing a significant part in sports administration, sports marketing or the commercial world of sport; or that they are a graduate of an Irish third-level institution and making their mark on the international stage, and that they were born in or after 1992.
