Sport for Business member Future Ticketing has further expanded its footprint in the English football market by entering a new partnership with Hartlepool United FC.

The North of England Club were relegated back to the National League after two seasons in League Two but have bounced back before. They are famously known as the Monkey Hangers following an incident in the Napoleonic Wars of the 19th Century when the townspeople did just that to a monkey on a ship that had sunk off the coast.

Sky Sports Soccer Saturday presenter Jeff Stelling is a fan.

Future Ticketing is now working with 44 different clubs across the SSE Airtricity League, the Northern Ireland Football League, the Scottish and English Football Leagues. It also has a strong portfolio in horse racing, rugby, cricket and entertainment.

“We are delighted to announce this new partnership with Hartlepool FC,” said CEO Liam Holton. “We share the club’s vision for improving the fan experience at The Suit Direct Stadium.”

“Our role will empower the Hartlepool FC ticketing team to take control of their ticketing and provide an easy online purchase journey.”

“On the day fans will have a smooth entry to the ground through digital tickets which sit in the Hartlepool FC app. We’re excited to go on this journey with Hartlepool FC and put fans back at the centre of their ticketing offering.”

All season tickets and matchday tickets will be available digitally making the transition to cashless transactions a comfortable one.

Fans will be able to purchase tickets with debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

There will be new hardware at the turnstiles and the scanning of e-tickets will reduce queuing times and inconvenience for supporters on match day.

While the option of hard form tickets remain, Hartlepool United is encouraging supporters to use the digital option where possible.

“We are really pleased to get this partnership live following months of research into various ticketing providers,” said Rose Stoker, Head of Commercial and Operations at Hartlepool.

“The club have been working hard to identify a solution for the problems our supporters faced before, and especially on a matchday in terms of long queues and the overall ticketing experience.”

“Future Ticketing will provide that long overdue solution and we are all really excited to see the benefits, which will form a part in our objective to improving our fan experience.”

Future ticketing was formed in 2015 from its base in Tullamore, County Offaly and has opened up a UK base in Manchester.
