A massive weekend of Gaelic Football action at Croke Park drew impressive TV and streaming audiences for RTÉ, as Kerry and Donegal advanced to the 2025 All-Ireland Football Final, and Kildare lifted the Tailteann Cup.

Saturday’s coverage on The Saturday Game Live began with Kildare’s win over Limerick in the Tailteann Cup Final, which averaged 151,000 viewers, peaking at 227,000. It commanded a 31% share of the viewing audience and generated 61,551 streams on RTÉ Player.

Later that day, Kerry’s semi-final victory over Tyrone attracted an average of 424,000 viewers, peaking at 510,000, with a 52% share and 144,276 Player streams.

On Sunday, Donegal’s win over Meath pushed the numbers even higher. The game averaged 490,000 viewers, peaking at 560,000 and commanding a 54% share, with 176,906 streams on RTÉ Player.

The figures compare favourably to those of the 2025 All-Ireland Hurling semi-finals, which were played the previous weekend.

Cork’s dramatic win over Dublin averaged 401,000 viewers, peaking at 470,000, with 137,000 Player streams. The second semi-final between Tipperary and Kilkenny drew a slightly higher average of 417,000 viewers, peaking at 493,000, with 149,000 streams on RTÉ Player.

While the anticipation for this Sunday’s Hurling Final is near fever pitch, football edged ahead in both average and peak audiences, particularly with Sunday’s Donegal-Meath clash delivering the highest figures across both codes.

RTÉ’s multi-platform coverage continued across Irish language commentary on the RTÉ News channel and full matchday broadcasts on RTÉ Radio 1’s Saturday and Sunday Sport.

The Sunday Game highlights programme on RTÉ2 attracted 86,000 viewers with a 13% audience share
