Tennis Ireland has confirmed that the Irish Davis Cup team will return to the UL Sport Arena for a pivotal World Group II Play-off tie against Syria on the 7th and 8th of February 2026, with tickets on sale this morning, 4th December, at 10:00 am.
The 2024 Davis Cup meeting with Austria turned the Limerick arena into a wall of noise and colour, and Tennis Ireland will be hoping for more of the same as the team looks to take another step forward on the international stage.
Described as the World Cup of Men’s Tennis, the Davis Cup offers a unique mix of national pride, team energy and crowd involvement rarely found on the ATP Tour. With the tie on home soil, Ireland will be aiming to harness that energy as they push for progression.
“There’s nothing quite like Davis Cup at home,” said Kevin Quinn, CEO of Tennis Ireland. “UL Sport Arena gives us an incredible stage – close-up seats, big noise, and a brilliant family atmosphere. We want to see the stands packed with green, roaring #TeamIreland onto a home success.”
UL Sport is equally enthusiastic about hosting another marquee tennis occasion. “UL Sport is honoured and delighted once again to host the Davis Cup at the University of Limerick,” said Brian King, Director of UL Sport. “Following the fantastic atmosphere against Austria in 2024, we are eager to welcome fans back for another world-class tennis occasion.”
“We look forward to seeing the stands filled with green and creating unforgettable memories as Ireland faces Syria in February 2026.”
While Syria may not be as familiar an opponent to casual followers, Tennis Ireland is underlining that no Davis Cup tie comes without risk or intrigue.
“Davis Cup has a habit of producing great stories,” said Cian Blake, National Performance Development Director.
“Syria will arrive well prepared and highly motivated. With a passionate Irish crowd behind us in UL, we’re confident we can rise to the occasion and put in a performance everyone can be proud of.”
In addition to the on-court action, the weekend will feature fan engagement activities, autograph sessions and family-friendly entertainment – adding to the appeal for clubs, juniors and sports fans travelling from across the country.
