The Winter Olympics 2026 in Milano Cortina officially get underway this evening with the Opening Ceremony live on RTÉ Player and RTÉ News channel from the iconic San Siro stadium in Milan. RTÉ’s coverage begins at 6.55pm.

RTÉ Player will stream all of the events featuring the four strong Irish team beginning with Cormac Comerford in the Downhill Skiing tomorrow morning, Saturday 7 February, from 10.20am to 12.45pm.

RTÉ Player will have a one-hour highlights programme every evening at 10pm from Saturday 7 February to Saturday 21 February. The highlights package on Sunday 22 February will run from 4pm to 5pm. The highlights will also be available on demand on RTÉ Player.

Inside Sport, Saturday Sport and Sunday Sport on RTÉ Radio 1 alongside TV and Radio Sports bulletins will keep listeners up-to-date with all the news and reaction from Italy.

Eamon Horan is out on the slopes feeding back into those bulletins.

RTÉ Online will carry reports on the Irish competitors as well as the best of the international action, along with digital highlights on social media and the RTÉ website and RTÉ News app.
