Irish Hockey is on a roll in Santiago in Chile with the Men’s team securing top spot in their group, advancing to the semi-finals, and the women looking to match them playing against Canada this evening.
The men scored 15 goals in their trio of victories against Canada, Korea and Poland and will now face Wales in the semi final on Friday.
The winners of that game, as well as making it to the final of this tournament will also secure their place in the FIH World Cup Finals taking place in Belgium and the Netherlands in August of this year.
Travel to Santiago is an expensive business for a team sport but if we return with two places in a World Cup Finals secured, it will have been an investment with a major return.
