Sport for Business, in partnership with Technological University Dublin and Technology Ireland Digital Skillnet, will bring together leaders from sport, business and technology this June for a focused exploration of one of the most transformative forces shaping the sector, with the launch of a Future Proofing Irish Sport 2026, probing the impact and potential of AI and Data in Sport.

The ticketed session will take place on June 10th at the Grangegorman Campus, combining panel discussions and fireside interviews across a 2.5-hour programme to examine how artificial intelligence and data are influencing performance, commercial growth and governance across sport.

From high performance environments to fan engagement and sponsorship measurement, the use of data is accelerating rapidly. The event is designed to provide a space for senior decision-makers to share insight, challenge assumptions and explore practical applications of emerging technologies.

“AI and data are no longer future concepts in sport, they are already reshaping how organisations operate, compete and connect,” said Rob Hartnett, Founder of Sport for Business. “This conference will bring together those leading that change and those looking to understand how best to engage with it.”

The discussion will also draw on academic and applied expertise in the area.

“Sport has always been an early adopter of innovation, and AI is simply the next evolution of that,” said Dr Kieran Collins of TUD. “The real opportunity lies in how we integrate data into decision-making in a way that enhances performance while maintaining a strong ethical framework.”

The session will be structured around three core themes:

The use of AI in performance and athlete welfare
Data-driven fan engagement and commercial growth
Ethics, governance and trust in an increasingly data-rich environment

Senior representatives from governing bodies, professional clubs, sponsors, technology providers and public agencies are expected to attend, ensuring a high-level and diverse discussion.

The conference is part of the ongoing Sport for Business series of events designed to explore the intersection of sport and wider societal and commercial trends.

The full timetable of speakers and engagement opportunities will be revealed over the coming weeks.

Tickets are now on sale, with places limited to ensure a high-quality and engaged audience.
