Stripe has become a Worldwide Partner and the Official Payment Solutions Partner of the Ryder Cup, placing one of Ireland’s most successful technology companies at the heart of the fan experience when the tournament comes to Adare Manor in 2027.
The agreement with Ryder Cup Europe and the PGA of America covers both the 2027 contest in County Limerick and the 2029 Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota.
It significantly expands Stripe’s existing role in processing online payments for the Ryder Cup. The company will now provide the financial infrastructure supporting ticketing, hospitality, merchandise, food and beverage, and other retail transactions across the two events.
Stripe’s technology will be embedded across the event’s commercial operations, from the moment a supporter purchases a ticket to their spending at Adare Manor.
Online tickets and hospitality packages will be available through a single checkout, with Stripe Link providing a faster one-click payment option for returning customers. Local payment methods will also be available to accommodate the international audience travelling to Ireland.
At the venue, Stripe Terminal will support payments across catering, merchandise and retail outlets. Stripe will also work with the Ryder Cup on financial reporting across what will be one of the largest sporting events ever staged in Ireland.
Stripe was founded by Limerick brothers Patrick and John Collison and is dual-headquartered in Dublin and San Francisco. Its elevation to the Ryder Cup’s top level of commercial partnership provides an especially strong local connection ahead of the tournament’s arrival at Adare Manor.
The company joins Capgemini, DP World, SAP, Smurfit Westrock and Rolex within the Worldwide Partner tier for the 2027 event. Stripe and Smurfit Westrock give the top-level commercial programme two significant companies with strong Irish roots as preparations gather pace for Adare.
“An event like the Ryder Cup—hundreds of thousands of fans with payments running across ticketing, food and beverage, and merchandise—is exactly the kind of scale Stripe operates at every day,” said Conor McNamara, Chief Revenue Officer EMEA at Stripe.
“We’re proud to become a Worldwide Partner and to power the full fan journey, from buying tickets at home to spending at the golf course.”
Technological Demands
The technological demands of the Ryder Cup have grown alongside the scale and commercial value of the event.
More than 70,000 square feet of merchandise space was provided at the 2025 Ryder Cup in New York, highlighting the volume of transactions that must be handled quickly and consistently during tournament week.
Guy Kinnings, Chief Executive Officer of the European Tour group, said Stripe would help organisers deliver a cashless experience at Adare Manor.
“The ticketing, merchandise and catering operations are significant,” he said.
“Stripe’s technology platforms will help us to deliver a cashless experience in Ireland with increased speed and convenience for our fans around the world.”
The partnership illustrates the increasingly close relationship between major sports sponsorship and event delivery.
Rather than limiting its involvement to branding and hospitality, Stripe will provide infrastructure that directly influences how supporters experience the tournament. Speed of service, the ability to accept different international payment methods and the integration of data from thousands of sales points will all be important elements of the operation.
The Ryder Cup will take place at Adare Manor from September 13th to 19th, 2027, with the three days of competition running from Friday, September 17th to Sunday, September 19th.
It will be the second Ryder Cup staged in Ireland, following Europe’s victory at The K Club in 2006, and will mark 100 years since the first official contest was played in 1927.
Demand is already considerable. The initial ticket ballot has closed, with applications now being processed, while premium hospitality and travel packages are being marketed to supporters around the world.
The Irish presence within the Ryder Cup’s growing commercial family now extends across several levels. Stripe and Dublin-headquartered Smurfit Westrock are Worldwide Partners, while Ballygowan and Musgrave Group have signed as Official Supporters of the 2027 match. IDA Ireland is also part of the Official Supporter tier, strengthening the domestic business and investment dimension surrounding the event.
Terry Clark, Chief Executive Officer of the PGA of America, said Stripe’s infrastructure would also be used when the competition moves to Hazeltine in 2029.
“By leveraging Stripe’s advanced payment solutions, we are excited to offer spectators at the 47th Ryder Cup at Hazeltine a seamless payment experience at every touchpoint,” he said.
For Stripe, the partnership offers a showcase for its technology on one of sport’s biggest international stages.
For the Ryder Cup, it provides an Irish-founded technology partner capable of managing the huge number of transactions generated across tournament week.
And for Adare Manor 2027, it adds another substantial Irish connection to an event whose sporting, commercial and technological footprint continues to grow.
