Each weekend, we highlight some of the performances that light up the Irish sporting landscape.

This weekend, we highlight action in Hockey, Rugby, Hurling, Basketball and for Women in Sport.

This week’s Champions of the Weekend is brought to you by AIG, one of Sport for Business’s key partners, and supporters of our Annual 50 Women of Influence in Irish Sport List.

Irish Hockey

Six Nations Rugby

Not just Ireland’s hard fought win over Wales but Scotland beating France in a 90 point festival of tries, and then Italy beationg england for the first time after 33 years of trying in the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.  It sets up a heck of a Super Saturday next week.

Galway Hurling

Galway’s victory over Kilkenny by an astonishing 18 points was the fifth biggest defeat in the Cat’s history and puts the Tribesmen back in contention for a shot at the Allianz League title.

Irish Basketball

After 21 rounds, only one game separates Ballincollig, Belfast Star and Killester at the top of the Domin’s Pizza Men’s Super league
