Irish Sailing has appointed 1920 Worldwide to undertake a review of the organisation’s commercial activities with the aim of developing new commercial revenue streams to support the continued development of the sport in Ireland, from grassroots up to elite and Olympic level.

Irish Sailing represents more than 25,000 members across 64 clubs, 38 classes and 110 training/activity centres running accredited training programs.

“We are excited to partner with 1920 Worldwide as we enter this exciting Olympic year for sailing,” said CEO Tim Bourke.

“We already have two boats qualified for Paris and we want to use these qualifications as a platform to build for LA 2028.”

“We also have a very dedicated and engaged membership across all our clubs, and we want to maximise the opportunity to generate additional commercial revenues to build upon the execution of our strategy in the further development of our sport.”

“Combining our island location, and as one of the most sustainable sports globally, we want sailing, and the sailing community, to be able to support brands to further develop their ESG credentials through commercially focused programs that we develop.”

“With an increased focus on ESG, sailing and Irish Sailing offer ready-made platforms to help brands to deliver on their key environmental and sustainability agendas,” added Gavin McAllister, Managing Director, 1920 Worldwide (Dublin).

“We are delighted to bring our network, insight and innovation capabilities to help them to realise their full commercial potential.”
