Jack McCarney
Jack McCarney leads the delivery of the GAA Officer Training Programme.
He originally joined the GAA in 2019 as Club Administration Coordinator after graduating from TU Dublin with a Degree in Retail and Services Management.
In this role, he was responsible for developing and managing a range of Club Administration programmes, including membership and registration for over 600,000 members, Club planning, and digital learning initiatives.
After a year in a commercial role at Keelings, Jack returned to the GAA in 2022 as Planning and Training Officer. He now leads the delivery of the GAA’s officer training programmes, which attract over 2,000 participants annually, and has been instrumental in developing an innovative Club accreditation initiative, Club Compás, set to launch soon.
Over the past three years, Jack has also served as project manager for the GAA’s annual County Executive Conference at Croke Park. This high-profile event draws 250 attendees and has featured keynote speakers such as Jim Gavin (Dublin Football), John Kiely (Limerick Hurling), and Pádraig Dalton (former Director-General of the CSO). In 2024, Jack furthered his expertise by completing a Level 7 Certificate in Facilitation, Development, and Mentoring Skills in Gaelic Games at SETU Carlow.
